Lycoming Football - Carey earns PATS’ Team Physician Honorary Membership Award

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Dr. Patrick Carey, Lycoming College's athletics physician for the past 30 seasons, was honored by the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society (PATS) on Thursday, Aug. 20, when the organization announced that he was given the organization’s Team Physician Honorary Membership Award.

Carey is a renowned North Central Pennsylvania Orthopedic Surgeon and practitioner of Sports Medicine. In his current role as UPMC Susquehanna's Director of Sports Medicine, he has served as the primary doctor for the Williamsport area's high school, college and professional athletes for the past three decades. In addition to his role in sports medicine, he practices general orthopedics, was the sports medicine consultant for the Minor League Williamsport Crosscutters, the sports medicine consultant for the Little League World Series, the team physician for the athletic programs Lycoming College since 1990, and a generous philanthropist in the Williamsport area.

Lycoming Football - MAC suspends NCAA competition for Fall 2020! Spring Football?

SPRING FOOTBALL?

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After careful consideration of internal and external circumstances and with the health and well-being of each campus and community in mind, the presidents of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), including Lycoming College, made the difficult decision to suspend all intercollegiate athletics competition through the fall semester in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference office announced Friday morning, July 24.

Lycoming Football - Warriors Offense Rolls As Defense Shuts Down Dutchman 48-3


ANNVILLE, Pa. – Rushing for 340 yards, the Lycoming College football team scored six touchdowns on the ground in a 48-3 rout of Lebanon Valley College for its third straight win in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 9, at Arnold Field.

Lycoming Football - MAC Announces Update on Fall 2020

The conference intends to pursue fall athletics competition
ANNVILLE, Pa. (Conference News) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) President’s Council met on Thursday to discuss athletics for the fall of 2020 and has made the following statement:

First football game would be Saturday, September 19th!

The MAC intends to pursue fall athletics competition, with each campus formulating plans for resocialization that will comply with local, state and NCAA guidelines. Competition will be limited to MAC institutional members beginning no earlier than September 18, 2020 and with the goal of reaching NCAA minimums in all sports.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A two-time All-MAC offensive lineman along one of the best lines in Lycoming College football history, Darrin Kenney ’92 was selected for the inclusion in the MAC Hall of Fame Class of 2020, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Tuesday, May 19.

Lycoming Football - Four Football Players Earn Induction Into Chi Alpha Sigma


WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
 – The Pennsylvania Mu Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, welcomed its inaugural induction class at Lycoming College via an online induction video narrated by chapter advisor and Lycoming College Associate Director of Athletics Joe Guistina, which was released on Thursday morning, April 16.

Lycoming Football - Five Warriors added to Hampshire Honor Society

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Five significant contributors to the Lycoming College football team have earned a spot on the 2020 Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation in Dallas, Texas, announced on Wednesday, April 15, as the group ties Lycoming’s high-water mark for selections for the third time in four years.

The five members are seniors Keith Batkowski (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area), Cody Botts (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg), Zach Kovach (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area), Stephen Toczylousky (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) and Korahn Williams (Reading, Pa./Reading), as the group ties the 2017 and 2018 teams for the most selections in program history.

#1 Can you give us the state of Lycoming football recruiting right now?
#2 Has the MAC had meetings discussing the 2020 Football Season Possibilities
#3 Assuming D3 football plays in the fall, how will you be handling playbooks getting that information to the offense, defense and special teams?

Warrior Football Chef - Delicious Easy Poached Eggs In Toast Recipe

Delicious Easy Poached Eggs In Toast
If you want a no fail easy breakfast try this poached eggs and toast all done at the same time, try this recipe:

  • PREPARATION:
    • Two slices of your favorite bread
    • Griddle
    • Small pat of butter cut in half
    • Two large eggs put into two small ramekins
    • Salt and Pepper
    • Muffin Cutter or "Wife favorite Christmas decorated sharp rimmed clear coffee cup!"
  • PROCEDURE:
    • Heat griddle to 350 degrees
    • Cut holes in the bread and place both pieces on the hot griddle
    • When bottoms seems lightly toasted, turn over along with the circular pieces of bread
    • Put the 1/2 pat of butter into each hole
    • When butter is half melted, pour the egg from the ramekin into the whole
    • Salt and pepper eggs
    • Cover the egg which you want well done
    • Remove toasted bread and eggs when cooked to desired likeness 
    • Serve with coffee and orange juice.

You could also cook bacon or sausage beforehand to broaden the meal.

In fact all winter and spring sports have been drastically affected. Basketball schedules cut short, wrestling tournament dropped in the middle of their nationals, etc. So what affect is it having on football now and the fall season?

Lycoming Football - Trio of Warriors earn Fall Academic All-MAC Team accolades

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College seniors Keith Batkowski (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area), Cody Botts (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg Area) and Stephen Toczylousky (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) each earned a spot on the Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference Football Team, the organization office in Annville, Pa., announced on Thursday, Jan. 23.

It is the third time Botts earned the award in as many seasons, joining Ryan Umpleby ’15 as the only two Warriors to earn the Academic All-MAC selection three times.

Lycoming Football - 44th Annual Banquet Honors Achievements On And Off The Field

D3 College Football is an exciting Division for those smaller colleges across the land. For the past 44 years Lycoming College has hosted this great event. The Seniors at Lycoming College are always honored for their achievements on and off the field. Other best of honors are also given where underclassmen are frequently honored. A fact that many miss is that the game of football is a small but exciting part of the college experience. Friends for an eternity are made in the college experience and a valuable diploma awaits those who can manage this rigerious challenge. This years seniors were justly honored, not just for their character and perseverance on the field. They were also honored for their student accomplishments off the field.
