Hall of Fame Coach Frank Girardi to be Honored at the Peach Bowl
Congratulations Coach "G" as you are honored at the Peach Bowl Saturday, December 31st! We are so proud of you and the recognition you truly deserve. You invented a winning coaching approach at Lycoming by creating a family atmosphere. You started a culture of being involved with players and their families! You cannot fake this attitude. You either have it or you are shallow as a coach. Thanks again for all the lessons demonstrated by you, Lynne, and your extended family! #GoWarriors

NEW YORK – Former Lycoming College head football coach Frank Girardi joined an elite group in the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday night, Dec. 6, as part of the National Football Foundation’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria, adding to an already legendary resume, as NFF chairman Archie Manning officially recognized Girardi as one in a 16-member class.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Former Lycoming College head football coach Frank Girardi spoke at the National Football Foundation’s Annual Awards Dinner Press Conference ahead of his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame tonight, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m., at the Waldorf-Astoria, as part of the NFF’s Annual Awards Dinner. The awards dinner will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Below are Coach Girardi’s comments at the press conference, provided by Caption Northwest, Inc.
BONNIE BERNSTEIN: Frank Girardi, 1972-2007 at Lycoming, 257 victories, won 72 percent of his games, one of only 17 coaches on any level -- any level -- to reach 250 wins at one school. Coach, Coach Bowes was talking about the importance of having an eye for talent, hiring coaches around who can complement you. But you think about that: 250 wins at one school, 29 straight winning seasons. What's the formula? What really worked? If you had a bunch of young, aspiring coaches sitting here in front of you, what would you -- how would you guide them?

2016 Lycoming Football Video - These Guys Are So Good
I used a Mevo camera that switches camera angles automatically. On occasion, it shows the wrong shot, but as you can see, it has done a good job at Misericordia.

My Memories of 'A Great One" who passed away in Latrobe, PA
An Editorial
Memories of Arnold Palmer in the 60's are fresh in my misty eyes on the news of his passing. I started playing golf because of him. I could not get enough of him. I can remember being at the barber shop reading about him in Sports Illustrated. Pictures of him smoking a cigarette between his lips and eying a putt with that blue collar look are still fresh in my mind after 55 years. He was everything I wanted to be. He was a piece of my life during my influential days.
I was from a blue collar family. My father was a factory worker who never graduated from high school. My mother was a nurse the 3-11 shift to make ends meet for our family. It is that blue collar upbringing that is the soul of my character. Because of it, I fell in love with two games in my life, football and golf. Arnold Palmer inspired me to travel to Philadelphia and watch him in the US Open. He was not playing well. But the crowds, Arnies Army were still following him and not the leaders. I remember a spectator yelling to us to go watch the leader play. Why are you following Arnie? Well the truth is, it did not really matter how he was playing. It was just fun to watch him. He still gave every shot all that he had. He would not leave anything on the golf course. He always gave it his all.

DALLAS, Pa. – Down by 11 points midway through the third quarter, the Lycoming College football team scored on three of its next four drives, speared on by a pair of scores from the Middle Atlantic Conference leader, senior Blake Bowman (Valley View, Pa./Tri-Valley), to post a 28-24 conference win over Misericordia on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Mangelsdorf Field.
Down 17-6 after a 37-yard field goal from Matt Dinnocenti with 8:50 left in the third quarter, the Warriors (2-2 overall, 1-2 MAC) rallied with a five-play, 62-yard drive thanks to a huge 3-and-14 completion for 43 yards to sophomore Nick Costello (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) that put the ball inside the Misericordia 10-yard line. It took Bowman two plays to find the end zone and a two-point conversion from senior Chase Whiteman (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) to sophomore John Kim (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove) made it 16-14.
