Lycoming Football Game 8 Player of the Week - Sr OL Cody Botts
Lycoming Vs Misericordia

It was just an amazing game. One of the best coached and played games I have had the privilege to witness as a Warrior fan. I don't know what changed. There was a different spirit with this team that defeated a very good Misericordia club. Even after the game, there was something different, a maturity that I did not recognize. Yes, as Coach Clark said to his players after the game, "I'm not taking away from FDU-Florham (who we defeated last week), but you just beat a very good team."
One reason is because of the offensive line. Check the numbers. The Warriors team rushed for 342 net yards and five touchdowns. There were 10 players that were included in that total. Yes, sophomore quarterback Elijah Shemory had almost 1/3 of that total with 114 net yards and four touchdowns. But Lycoming had two freshman (Joey Guida and Nick Breiner) a sophomore (Chase Cramer) and a senior (Keith Batkowski) all with 40 yards or more rushing. Lycoming used "fresh horses" throughout the game. And get this, the Warriors averaged 6.2 yards rushing per carry! Oh, and WE NEVER, YES NEVER PUNTED THE BALL. Not once! Never a three and out in the whole game! Unbelievable.

Warriors Bowl Bound With Win Over Cougars in Dallas
![]() |
The Lycoming swarming defense shut down Misericordia in the second half. |
Note: The Warriors (5-5 overall, 4-4 MAC) will find out who they play on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the MAC-Centennial Bowl after the NCAA selects its field of 32 teams for the NCAA Division III Championship.
It will be on the road…
DALLAS, Pa. – A gutsy second-half performance by the Lycoming College football team’s defense, which never let Misericordia University inside the 19-yard line helped it to a 21-14 MAC win in the regular-season finale at Mangelsdorf Field on Saturday, Nov. 10, clinching a spot in the MAC-Centennial Bowl Series and denying Misericordia a share of the conference title in the process.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A trio of third-quarter touchdowns helped the Lycoming College football team break open an 11-point halftime score, as Lycoming held on for a 35-17 win over Misericordia University on Saturday, Oct. 28, at David Person Field to move into a tie for fourth in the Middle Atlantic Conference with two regular-season games remaining.
The Warriors (4-4 overall, 4-3 MAC) scored the middle 35 points in the contest after Misericordia (1-7 overall, 1-6 MAC) opened the game with a field goal and ended it with a pair of fourth-quarter scores.
In the third quarter, the Warriors got started after an interception from senior Mike Ward (Edgewater, Md./South River) was returned 41 yards to the 21, where senior Collin Wright (Secane, Pa./Ridley), who made his first career start, found junior Brock Zollicoffer (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) over the middle for a touchdown with 8:41 remaining.
After a Misericordia 3-and-out, the Warriors drove 70 yards on seven plays, with senior Sam Dressler (Riverside, Pa./Danville), who found a hole, beat the last defender and ran in from 36 yards out to make it 28-3 with 3:56 left. The Cougars got two first downs on their next drive, but were forced to punt and a 29-yard return from sophomore Dante Gipson (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown) got the ball to midfield. On the first play of the ensuing drive, Wright went deep and found junior Nick Costello (Havertown, Pa./Haverford), who was just tripped up before finding the end zone. Wright snuck it in on the next play to make it 35-3.
