 WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After its second straight win over a team ranked in the D3football.com Top 25, the Lycoming College football team has entered the poll, placing 24th in the poll with 32 points, the website announce Sunday night, Oct. 6.

Games to watch for 2013 - Lycoming Vs Widener

Lycoming at Widener, 1 p.m., Sept. 28: Widener overcame seven turnovers to edge Lycoming, 28-23, last season. That slim margin was the difference between a MAC conference crown and NCAA playoff berth for the two teams. These two squads enter 2013 as two of the favorites in the conference race, so this matchup should again be critical. Lycoming was the favorite in the conference preseason poll, but Widener has won the last two meetings and draws the home-field advantage this time around.

Delaware Valley at Lycoming, 1 p.m., Oct. 5: Though Lycoming's matchup against Widener just one week prior will be crucial, so too will this one against Delaware Valley. The Aggies had their string of four straight conference titles snapped last season, but figure to again be in the mix in 2013. In fact, the MAC could once again end up being a three-team race.

In third season, Stevenson is cooking

Starting a college football program from scratch shares the same basic premise as cooking a meal.

The right ingredients are key, but following the steps in the recipe is just as important.

For three long years, Stevenson has put the pieces in place and followed the steps, waiting patiently along the way. Now, the Mustangs' meal is starting to finally come together. And it tastes damn good.

"It's nice for the guys to start to see some rewards for the amount of work that they've put into it," coach Ed Hottle said. "It's been nice to see."

Stagg Bowl XLI set for Friday night

The championship game date and time is determined primarily by television, with input from the NCAA. In recent years, the only options have been Friday night at 7 p.m. ET or Saturday morning at 11 a.m. ET.For the third consecutive year, the Division III football championship game will be played in prime time on a Friday night. Stagg Bowl XLI has been scheduled for Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, airing at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
The game has been held at Salem Stadium in Salem, Va., since 1993. Last year, an announced crowd of 6,027saw Mount Union win its 11th national title, defeating St. Thomas 28-10. Half of all Division III football championship games have been played in Salem.
