Lukens joins Lycoming athletic communications staff

WILLIAMMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College Associate Director of Athletics for Communications Joe Guistina announced the addition of Owen Lukens to the athletics communication department on Monday, August 13.

Lukens will assist Guistina in all aspects of the athletic communications department.

Lukens previously served as a sports information intern at Mansfield in 2017-18. Lukens worked under Sports Information Director Ryan McNamara. His roles included writing student-athlete biographies, producing live video for Mountie All-Access, updating social media pages, editing photos and updating program record books. He was also the recipient of the 2017-18 Steve McCloskey Service Award. The award was named after longtime Mansfield Sports Information Director Steve McCloskey, and is given to the student who provided outstanding service to the athletic department.

In addition to working with the Athletic Department at Lycoming, Lukens will serve as a part-time sports writer at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

Lukens was a member of the Mansfield University baseball team for five years, serving as a captain in his final season.

A native of Williamsport, Pa. Lukens graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 2013. He graduated from Mansfield University in 2018, earning a bachelor of science degree in mass communication: public relations.
