Williamsport, PA - Junior running back Blake Bowman was overshadowed by the much needed upset victory over 19th ranked Delaware Valley. What was lost in all the fuss over the exciting win was the history that was made Saturday by Blake.
He scored two rushing touchdowns which launched him ahead in the school's single-season rushing touchdown mark. The previous mark of 13 was held by Tim Deasey (2001), Jason Marraccini (1997).
He needed one score to tie Craig Needhammer, Deasey and Brian Thompson (1998) in total touchdowns. Punching it over the end zone two times puts Bowman on the top of the heap of great running backs in the Warrior Legacy.
Bowman was aided greatly by back-to-back four-touchdown games against King's and FDU-Florham. He was the first player in school history to accomplish that feat. And both of those games Lycoming lost. With one more game in this 2015 season, we can only hope he gets a few more chances. Under rated by some, Blake has reached this milestone with hard work and dedication to his craft.
