Lycoming Football Photos From the Past - Part I

WR Ryan Umpleby - Forest Hill, MD - Fallston High School
2015: First Team All-MAC wide receiver … Academic All-MAC … started all 10 games at wide receiver … finished second in the MAC with 980 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns … caught 55 passes for a league-best 17.8 yards per reception for receivers with more than 20 receptions … finished career by becoming the first receiver in program history to post more than 200 receiving yards in back-to-back games, notching 207 in a 43-42 win over 19th-ranked Delaware Valley before posting a school record 241 in his final game against Misericordia … led the MAC and finished 14th nationally with 1,736 all-purpose yards, the second-most in school history … finished his career third with 2,621 receiving yards, fourth with 166 receptions and fourth with 21 receiving touchdowns … his 4,148 all-purpose yards are also fourth in school history and his 1,212 kick return yards are third … the first player in school history to earn Academic All-MAC honors three times in a career … a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

2016: First Team All-MAC running back ... a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection ... Academic All-MAC ... first Warrior to lead MAC in rushing in back-to-back years ... posted 93.6 yards per game ... led the MAC in rushing touchdowns and finished 36th in Division III with 12 ... second in the MAC with 113.56 all-purpose yards per game and third with 12 total touchdowns ... started nine games at running back ... ran for 842 yards on 171 carries ... had a season-high 164 yards against Susquehanna, scoring three touchdowns ... also had 112 yards and three scores against King’s ... rushed for more than 100 yards four times ... had nine receptions for 96 yards on the year ... finished his career second in school history with 31 rushing yards, fifth with 2,516 rushing yards and third with an average of 5.16 yards per rush ... a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll … earned a spot on the Hampshire Honor Society.

WR Nick Costello - Havertown, PA - Haverford High School
2017: Appeared in 10 games and started nine as a wide receiver … finished 10th in the MAC with 638 receiving yards and sixth with seven touchdowns on 37 receptions … averaged 17.2 yards per reception, the fourth-best mark in the league … caught a program-record 99-yard touchdown pass against Lebanon Valley … also caught an 80-yard touchdown pass against Stevenson … had a season-high eight catches with 104 yards and a touchdown against King’s (Pa.) … had a season-high 127 receiving yards and a touchdown against Lebanon Valley … had 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns in win over FDU-Florham … recorded a touchdown catch in four straight games … led team with 22 money receptions (first down or touchdown) … … led team with 10 offensive plays of 20 or more yards.

DB Mike Ward - Edgewater, MD - South River High School High School
2017: Second Team All-MAC defensive back … finished his career with the Warriors as one of the top defensive players in program history, finishing sixth in school history with 263 career tackles … first player to lead the team in tackles for three straight years since Bill Small from 1989-91 … posted a career-high 88 tackles, notching three interceptions and six pass breakups … led the MAC and finished 19th in Division III with 6.3 solo tackles per game and finished fifth with 8.8 total tackles per contest … notched 45 tackles off rushes, 34 on passes, five on kickoffs and three on punt returns, all leading the team … finished seventh in the MAC with 0.9 passes defended and 11th with 0.3 interceptions per game … also forced and recovered a fumble … averaged 30.6 yards on seven kickoff returns, posting an 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at Stevenson … also forced an recovered a fumble at Stevenson … had career-high 15 tackles against Lebanon Valley and posted 10 or more stops three times … had a 32-yard interception return against Wilkes and a 41-yarder against Misericordia, two of his eight plays of more than 20-yard plays, which finished third on the team … a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll.
