King's Tummiinello Named Mac Special Teams Player of the Week

Senior kicker Mike Tumminello was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday

ANNVILLE -- After helping the King's College football team to a season-opening win Thursday night, Monarch senior kicker Mike Tumminello has been named the MAC Special Teams "Player of the Week", the MAC Office announced Sunday.

Tumminello had a perfect day on field goals and extra points in the Monarchs' 30-27 win over Moravian. Tumminello made all three points-after-touchdown (PATs) as well as all three field goals. His third field goal came with just 1:37 left in regulation with the game tied at 27-27. Tumminello drilled the field goal from 38-yards out for the game-winner. 


The senior's first field goal from 36-yards came in the third quarter to give King's a 17-14 lead. He then kicked 27-yard field goal for a 27-20 lead with under seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Tumminello and the Monarchs will return to the field Saturday when King's travels to Owings Mills, Md. to open its MAC schedule against defending conference champion Stevenson University.
