Lycoming Football - RB Blake Bowman named MAC Offensive Player of the Week

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After posting his second 100-yard game of the season, junior Blake Bowman(Valley View, Pa./Tri-Valley) has earned his first career Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Sunday, Sept. 20.


Bowman led the Warriors to a 48-24 victory over conference foe Wilkes to claim their first win of the season. Bowman scored Lycoming’s first two touchdowns on the ground with a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a three-yard score in the second quarter, giving him a team-leading four scores this year.

The junior running back finished the game with 140 yards on 26 attempts, including a long run of 23 yards. Bowman is third in the MAC in rushing with an average of 98.0 yards per game, while his four touchdowns are tied for the league lead.

Bowman is the first Warrior to earn the conference’s offensive player of the week award since Craig Needhammer won the award on Nov. 16, 2014. A Warrior running back has won a weekly award from the MAC in each of the last nine years.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 26, when they face Middle Atlantic Conference foe Albright at 1 p.m. at David Person Field.
