2014 Lycoming Football - Mike Clark talks about King's, Sibel, Jenny, Defense and more

Lycoming defeated a strong King's squad 28-13 for their 3rd straight of the season. Lycoming's QB Tyler Jenny spread the ball around to six wide receivers and the defense played strong again. Oh yes, the depth chart is getting experience.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Another efficient performance, both offensively and defensively, helped the 23rd-ranked Lycoming College football team to a 28-13 win over King’s College in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday, Sept. 20, at David Person Field.

Brian Campbell is from Hazelton, PA and has interesting comments on his defensive role for Lycoming.

2013: Played in nine games and started one … Recorded 27 tackles, 17 solo … Had four solo tackles  against both Brockport and Stevenson … Posted a tackle for a loss against Widener … Forced a fumble against Wilkes … Had one pass breakup.

2012: Played in four games … Carried the ball two times for two yards … Posted two solo tackles.

High School: An all-conference and all-area running back.

Personal: Son of Brian and Carrolyn Campbell … A political science major.

2014 Lycoming Football - Jr. DB Matt Malecki made the switch to Defense.

Recruited as a WR, Matt made the switch to defense and likes it.

2013: Started all 10 games … Recorded 43 tackles, 29 solo … Had five solo tackles against both Brockport and Lebanon Valley … Posted a half tackle for loss against Lebanon Valley  … Recovered a fumble against Stevenson  … Recorded two pass breakups.

2012: A member of the junior varsity squad.

High School: Named all-conference and team’s Offensive MVP.

Personal: Son of Cathy and Edward Malecki … Has two brothers, Eddie and Ben … A psychology major … Favorite movie is “Fight Club” … Favorite hobby is playing sports.

Lycoming football game notes against King’s College on Saturday, Sept. 20

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After a last-minute loss to King's in 2013, the 23rd-ranked Lycoming College football team will be looking for a measure of revenge on the Monarchs when they enter David Person Field on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The Warriors (2-0 overall, 1-0 MAC) are coming off an impressive 26-0 win over Albright on Sept. 13. The defense allowed just 114 total yards and six first downs to the Lions en route to the 68th shutout in the 41-year tenure of defensive coordinator Steve Wiser. The defense also forced three turnovers.

Lycoming Football - Jenny, Gentile named MAC Players of the Week

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – An efficient performance in the rain has helped Lycoming College seniorTyler Jenny (Glasgow, Pa./Glendale) earn his first career Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award while junior teammate Mike Gentile (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) picked off two passes to earn his first MAC Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Jenny was brilliant while helping the 23rd-ranked Warriors to a 26-0 dismissal of Albright. In the process, Jenny improved to 17-5 all-time as a starter after going 17-of-25 for two touchdowns and 213 yards, as he became the eighth player in school history to reach 4,000 career passing yards. Jenny notched touchdown passes of 24 and 19 yards and helped the team convert 18 first downs.

Jenny is the first Warrior quarterback to earn the MAC’s Offensive Player of the Week award since Glenn Smith won it on Oct. 15, 2005 and he is the first Warrior to earn the award since senior Craig Needhammer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was named the player of the week on Oct. 6, 2013.
