Megonnell is the son of Deborah and Gregory Megonnell. A student at West Perry High School, he is a part of the football, ice hockey and baseball teams. He was also selected for the Mid-Penn Colonial Second-Team All Star Defense for West Perry Football. Megonnell is a recipient of the Lycoming College Third Century Scholarship and plans to play for the Lycoming College football team.
