MAC News: LVC Trio Earns MAC Weekly Awards

#18 Jake Zeigler catches perfect TD throw against Lycoming defense
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Zach Halpin, Jake Zeigler, and Joey Miller have been honored in the Middle Atlantic Conference's weekly awards.

Halpin was named the defensive player of the week while Zeigler picked up the special teams awards, and Miller was named to the weekly honor roll. The trio was instrumental in LVC's 14-7 win over #24 Lycoming on Saturday.

Halpin had a career-high four sacks among six tackles and keyed LVC's 10-sack day, generating four hurries and multiple hits on Lyco quarterback Tyler Jenny. Two of his sacks came on third down, including a critical stop in a goal line stand by LVC with Lyco getting 1st and goal at the 3. LVC's defense allowed only 50 yards rushing.

In a game that came down to the field position battle, Zeigler's punting made the different as he averaged 39.2 yards per punt. The senior stuck three of his six inside the 20 – including one inside the 1 – and booted a season-long 52-yarder.

Miller caught the game-winning touchdown against Lyco, snagging a 13-yard pass falling out of bounds at the pylon in the fourth quarter. Miller had three catches for 79 yards, including a spectacular 50-yard grab earlier in the game that led to LVC's first touchdown, and he also drew a pass interference penalty.
