LEESBURG, Va. - Lebanon Valley has been named the Division III Defense of the Week by Beyond Sports Network, recognizing their hard-hitting effort against #24 Lycoming on Saturday.
LVC's entire unit was honored by BSN after they held Lycoming to a single touchdown in a 14-7 victory on Oktoberfest Weekend. The Dutchmen (5-1, 4-1 MAC) compiled 10 sacks and three interceptions as they limited the Warriors to 289 yards of total offense and just 50 yards rushing. LVC had a first-half goal line stand to preserve a lead, then stopped a driving Lycoming late in the fourth quarter with three sacks on their final series.
Defensive end Zach Halpin, also named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week, was singled out for BSN defensive player of the week honors after his four-sack, six-tackle game.
Lebanon Valley has a bye this week before returning to action Oct. 26 at Misericordia.
