DelVal's Schubert aims for milestone

DOYLESTOWN — Delaware Valley College senior running back and team captain Kyle Schuberth is an “average” game away from becoming the first Aggie in school history without the last name Cook to rush for 3,000 career yards.

As DelVal’s third all-time leading rusher with 2,861 career yards, Schuberth gets his first realistic opportunity to reach that milestone Friday, when the Aggies (4-1 overall, 3-1 Middle Atlantic Conference) travel to FDU-Florham (7 p.m.) for the team’s first night game in six years.

Even if Schuberth comes in slightly below his current season average of 144.3 yards a game, he still could get there against the Devils (1-4, 0-4 MAC).

Schuberth said he would prefer to reach the mark this week instead of during DelVal’s next home game, Oct. 26 vs. King’s. Schuberth’s reasoning, as always, puts the team first.
