WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (September 11, 2010)– After racking up his second career 200-yard game, senior running back Josh Kleinfelter (Bellwood, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) has become the first Lycoming College player to earn D3Football.com Team of the Week honors since punter Tim Eskridge ’06 earned mention during week eight of the 2005 season, the website announced on Thursday.
Kleinfelter averaged 6.3 yards per rush in the game to move his career total to 2,753 yards

Kleinfelter rushed for 209 yards on 33 carries in a 40-10 win over Westminster (Pa.) on Sept. 11, posting 170 yards and two touchdowns in the second half alone to earn the honor. Kleinfelter posted two 30-yard runs in the game and crossed the 200-yard mark for the second time in his career, and the first since rushing for 229 yards against Susquehanna on Sept. 20, 2008.

With the score 17-10, he ran the ball nine times for 67 yards on an 11-play, 80-yard drive before scoring on a 1-yard run to help Lycoming take control of game in the third quarter. The drive was the start of a second-half in which the 5-10, 185-pound back ran for 170 yards on 23 carries.

Kleinfelter averaged 6.3 yards per rush in the game to move his career total to 2,753 yards, just 115 away from the second spot in school history, currently held by Tim Deasey (1998-01). The Warriors posted a hefty 466 yards of total offense in the game with the team’s rushers accounting for 308 yards.

The announcement wraps up a weekful of accolades for the Warriors, as senior Chuck Bellitto (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) earned the MAC’s Defensive Player of the Week for his 11-tackle game against the Titans. Kleinfelter earned mention on the MAC’s Honor Roll.

After a bye week, the Warriors will get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 25, when Ithaca College comes to David Person Field for a 1:30 p.m. game as part of Family Weekend.
