Lycoming Football: Game notes vs. Albright

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Fans coming back to Lycoming College for Homecoming will see a familiar sight when they look at the Middle Atlantic Conference football standings. The Warriors have a share of first place and will look to keep a slice of a four-way tie as they take on fifth-place Albright College today at David Person Field.

The Warriors (4-2 overall, 4-1 MAC) are a weekend separated from their last game, a 14-7 loss at Lebanon Valley that knocked the team out of the D3football.com Top 25. SeniorMatt Atkinson led the team against the Dutchmen, catching eight passes for a career-high 109 yards.

The Lions (4-2 overall, 3-2 MAC) sit just a game behind the Warriors despite being in fifth place after posting a 30-12 win over Wilkes on Oct. 19.

• Assistant head coach Steve Wiser has been a part of 299 wins with Lycoming College, 290 during his 40 years as an assistant coach and nine during his four years as a player.

• Junior Craig Needhammer needs 11 more rushing yards to become the ninth player in school history to reach 2,000 in a career.

• Needhammer needs 116 more yards to become the 21st player to post 1,000 all-purpose yards in a season.

• Senior Kabongo Bukasa is 12 tackles shy of becoming the 25th player in school history to record 200 in a career.

• Junior Tanner Troutman became the 20th player in school history to post 10 interceptions in a career with his pick at Lebanon Valley.

• Senior Matt Atkinson needs 52 more yards to become the 20th player in school history to reach 1,000 career receiving yards.
