MAC Football: Stevenson edges Albright 24-18 in thriller

Owings Mills, MD - A final pass from the two yard line sailed just over Daniel McNair's head as the Albright College football team fell 24-18 to Stevenson University on Saturday in Owings Mills, Md.

Sophomore Daniel Sobolewski kicked a school record 51-yard field goal in the defeat. Senior Ty Hughes rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown, while classmate McNair had 85 receiving yards and a score.

Albright QB TJ Luddy found Griffin Eldridge to the 41-yard line with 1:23 remaining and the Lions trying to drive for the winning score. He then hit Devron Clark across midfield, and rushed to the Stevenson 24 with 30 seconds remaining.

Luddy found McNair at the two yard line with four seconds remaining, setting up one final play with the game on the line. McNair broke to the right side of the end zone, but the pass went over his fingertips as time expired.

Albright falls to 1-1 and faces a massive test next weekend, at home against Delaware Valley College in the Pretzel Bowl. Third-year program Stevenson is 2-0 on the year.
