ANNVILLE, Pa. - Junior outside linebacker Frank Gaffney and junior quarterback Brian Murphy have been honored in the Middle Atlantic Conference's weekly football awards.

Gaffney was named the Defensive Player of the Week and Murphy to the weekly Honor Roll for their standout performances in Lebanon Valley's 38-17 win over King's on Saturday.

Gaffney, who was previously named to the Week 1 Honor Roll, led a stifling Dutchmen defense with three sacks among 10 tackles. Four of Gaffney's tackles were for a loss and another for no gain as he hit King's quarterback Tyler Hartranft three times off the edge. Eight of his tackles were solo.

Murphy threw for four touchdowns, three of them in the first half as Lebanon Valley raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead. Murphy threw for an efficient 258 yards and no interceptions on just 11 completions, throwing touchdowns of 26, 14, 35, and 73 yards. Murphy also ran for 37 yards on six rushes, including a pair of third-down conversions in the first half.

Lebanon Valley (2-1, 1-1 MAC) returns to action Sept. 28, hosting FDU-Florham.
