Lycoming Warriors fifth in MAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College football team was selected fifth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Aug. 22.


The Warriors received 50 points in the poll, finishing behind Delaware Valley (75), 2015 MAC Champion Albright (74), Stevenson (68) and Widener (56). The Warriors finished ahead of Lebanon Valley (43), King’s (24), FDU-Florham (21), Wilkes (21) and Misericordia (18).

The Warriors finished 2015 with a 4-6 record and 4-5 in the MAC. The team won three of the last four games of the year, including a 42-41 win over 19th-ranked Delaware Valley and featured five all-conference selections. This year’s squad will return 15 starters from that team as well as several others that earned significant playing time.

The Warriors open the 2016 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, when they host rival Susquehanna University for the Stagg Hat Trophy at 1 p.m.
