Lycoming Football - Ryan Umpleby named to MAC Weekly Honor Roll

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After posting the first kickoff return for a touchdown for the Lycoming College football team since 2009, senior Ryan Umpleby (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) has earned a spot on the MAC Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Sunday, Oct. 4.


Umpleby took a first quarter kickoff 89 yards for a score in Saturday’s 41-38 overtime loss to Lebanon Valley, the first off a kickoff return for the Warriors since Parker Showers hit paydirt in the 2009 season opener. During the run, he also became the 11th player in school history to reach 3,000 career all-purpose yards.

Umpleby finished the game with 176 all-purpose yards, posting 122 on kick returns, 55 on receptions and -1 on punt returns. He also found the end zone twice, once with the kick return and once on a 21-yard reception.

The senior leads the Warriors with 22 catches for 310 yards and three receiving touchdowns and his 687 all-purpose yards are also tops on the squad.

The Warriors get back on the field after a bye week on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they head to King's (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. kickoff in the MAC game.
