WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Mike Gentile (Havertown, Pa./Haverford), thanks to a five-tackle, one-interception game, has earned a spot on the Middle Atlantic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Gentile was a key part of the defensive back corps that held fast-paced Wilkes offense to 15-of-32 passing for 118 yards by defending four passes, including picking off one pass in the Lycoming end zone in the team’s 27-14 win on Saturday, Sept. 27.
This is the second recognition for Gentile from the conference this year, as he was named the conference’s defensive player of the week on Sept. 14, after notching two interceptions in a 26-0 win over Albright.
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they face undefeated Stevenson in another MAC showdown at David Person Field. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
