Needhammer, Hentz earn spots on MAC Weekly Honor Roll

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior running back Craig Needhammer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and senior Dwight Hentz (Halifax, Pa./Halifax Area) each earned a spot on the Middle Atlantic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their roles in the Lycoming College football team’s 55-12 win over FDU-Florham on Saturday, Nov. 9, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Needhammer posted his sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season, finishing with 20 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns in just two and a half quarters. He became the ninth running back in school history to cross 1,000 yards in the game, finishing the day with 1,022 and also became the fifth running back to post 25 touchdowns in a career. The 5-7 running back scored on runs of one, 23 and 12 yards, helping the Warriors take a 41-0 with 12:47 left in the third before exiting the game.

Hentz notched another monster game against FDU-Florham, finishing with eight tackles, 2.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also added a forced fumble and broke up a pass in the 55-12 win.

The Warriors wrap up the 2013 regular-season on Saturday, Nov. 16, when they head to Stevenson for a 1 p.m. game.  The team can win a share of the 15th Middle Atlantic Conference title in school history if Lebanon Valley falls to Albright and can also earn the MAC’s NCAA Tournament bid if Widener defeats Delaware Valley along with the Lebanon Valley loss.
