WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – It’s fitting one of Lycoming College’s first Beyond Sports Network All-Americans is now the first to earn the website’s Athlete of the Week award, as the football team’s senior kicker Zack Czap (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) has earned his second spot on the national honor roll, the website announced on Monday night, Oct. 28.

Czap’s second recognition from the website this season comes after drilling game-tying and game-winning field goals in a 20-17 overtime win over Albright.

With 18 seconds remaining in regulation, Czap stayed patient through two timeouts to try to ice him before he drilled a 35-yard field goal into the wind to tie the game at 17. He finished off the win in overtime, overcoming another attempt to ice him, by drilling a 29-yard field goal.

Czap enjoyed a fine game in all aspects of the kicking game Saturday, converting both extra points, the two field goals, and he placed three of six punts inside the 20 while averaging 36.2 yards per boot.

He also earned the award this season after converting three field goals against Widener on Sept. 28.

The Warriors (5-2 overall, 5-1 MAC) get back on the field on Saturday, Nov. 2, when they head to King’s (4-3 overall, 4-2 MAC) for another key MAC game at 1 p.m.
